I'm going to add additional borders to the top and bottom to make it a longer lap quilt.

Pink Penguin Paper Piecing
I decided to do a little Pink Penguin paper piecing for my FLQS partner. These are such fun blocks to make.
I really love this indigo coloured block.
I'm adding some machine embroidered wording to the small quilt as well.

New AddressTag Holder
I machine embroidered an address tag holder from an image of my latest painting below.
I really love how it turned out and am so happy with the result!

Marcelle Medallion Quilt
So this is my progress so far, border number two is on! I love all of the scraps in this quilt! It is soooo much fun to make!
Here is after I put border number one on.
This is where I looked at the book sample and tried to imagine where I needed to go! I think adding the chambray border was a good pick! Follow the fun on instagram!

Pillow Cover finished!
I decided to make a quick gift for my parents in law's 50th wedding anniversary. Just about the only things they decorate with are small pillows in their minimalist style home. So I thought I'd make something they could use. Here is a look at the process:
The cover is fully removable with a zipper and can be washed separately from the pillow. It is also quilted with warm n natural so it stands nicely on its own.

A Star Quilt for Isla
My mom pieced the top of this quilt for my little Isla. That was before she was born. She just turned 18 months so I thought it was time to finish it!
I chose a banana print from 5 Funky Monkeys to as backing. I really love the playfulness of it and it suits her well.
My mom always makes star quilts for those she loves, this is a beautiful one!
Garden Geometry Quilt Finished!
I finished my Garden Geometry quilt! This was a free paper piecing pattern from 100 Billion Stars. Instead of finishing it as a mini quilt, I made it into a larger one. I really love the effect!

Little Eagle Man
I forgot to share these photos of my finished Little Eagle Man wall hanging. I am so in love with it.
There are so many favourite parts, it's hard to choose my favourite spot. My brother in law James also loved it and it is now hanging in his home on permanent loan because I just can't bear to give it away for good.
This was inspired by my friend Shimon's painting of the same name. I love his painting as well!
I love the red!

Lots of quilting going on...
I'm really making some progress on my quilting back log!
After finishing the two big quilts below, I decided to work on some smaller baby quilts above. Literally I have so many quilt tops that are just waiting to be quilted. This is my attempt to get them done. This year I have finished three quilts with these next four waiting for binding!

Paintings
I finished my paintings this week! This is the almost finished picture. Before I hung them I painted the sides a peachy colour. I really love looking at them!
This might be my favourite one.
Here is the little rug that I'm weaving that inspired the paintings. I really love chartreuse right now. And I always love shades of black and white! This was a little loom I set up using a blank picture frame. I set it up in a traditional Navajo weaving way. I need to familiarize myself with the weaving set up so when I go visit my grandmother this year I can learn everything I need to know to carry on the weaving in our family! She is 93 years old so there is some urgency.

Garden Geometry
I was so lucky to win a quilt kit from Melissa's 100 billion stars blog last month! She sent me all the fabrics to complete her mini quilt "Garden Geometry"! In addition to the prize she said I would also be receiving a few half yards of Parson Grey's Seven Wonders fabric line!
Once the quilt kit arrived I quickly started piecing the squares. But I realized that I really liked the idea of making this into a larger quilt....
and next some quilting...
Once I am done I will share some photos!
Last week a box with the rest of my prize arrived!!!!
Not just a couple half yards, but the WHOLE Seven Wonders Fat Quarter Set!!! OMG!!!!

TOMS DIY Clutch
If you've purchased a pair of TOMS shoes you likely have one of these little bags or flags lying around. I decided that I wanted to make a small clutch out of the bag.
I also used a print I designed myself to feature on the clutch and also printed it myself. I love the combination!
This was a really easy project and I did not use a pattern for this, just made it up as I went along and used some sew-in flexi-firm for the structure. It took roughly an hour from start to finish including printing the fabric.

Star Quilts
My mom taught me a couple years ago how to make a star quilt. I hadn't done it on my own until now. Using Best Press and careful sewing, it makes a quick and easy pattern!
Above, I used prints from DS Quilts, all fabrics I purchased recently from Arizona at Jo-Ann's. They were discounted to 3$ a yard! Of the 50+ yards I bought this is the first project I made :)
The other night the local Fabricland had a sale on their Heritage Quilting cottons so I decided to pair these colors together with some Kona snow and make another star.
