Mug Rug Swap Sneak Peek!
This was the first sneak peak photo I posted of the mug rug I made my partner... I didn't want to give too much away, I'm afraid my partner would sniff it out too easily!
After finishing the binding and quilting, I shared this photo... This was my first try at a double binding, sort of like matting a photo I guess :) I think it really helped add dimension and tie the colors together. This is such a fun technique, I'm sure I'll use it again.
Hopefully soon I'll get the go ahead and be able to ship this to my secret partner!

A Happy Mother's Day!
My mom is...
a last-minute cleaning, starlite eating, quilt shop hopping, coke drinking, star quilt making, black friday joann's shoppin', fry bread making, photo taking, phase ten playing, mutton bend hangin' kind of gal...
But more than that~ she's an inspiration, a pillar of strength, a loving, caring and generous being. I don't get to spend much time with my mom but I appreciate her everyday for the woman she is.
I have loved every moment in her light and the happiest days I have are when I can share her with my own children. I love you mom!

First Flying Geese Block finished!
I just finished this block which I made from scraps. I really love the movement and can't wait to make this into a pot holder or mini quilt :)
I found the free paper piecing pattern here.
MMM3 Swap How lucky am I?
I just recently received my swap gift from the Make Mine Modern 3 Swap. I can't tell you how excited I am about this!!! It's a wall hanging organizer. I absolutely love LOVE love Tula Pink and Sandie spoiled me.
Her sewing is so beautiful and perfect!
Here is the bundle of NEPTUNE fabric I also received!!!! Can you believe???
So I had to put it to use right away...
Working on a windmill baby quilt for my little Marisol. Thank you so much Sandie!
Wrap Dress from Owly Baby
This dress pattern from Owly Baby is super cute. I made it in one night and I'm really happy with the results. The only modification I made was adding a small snap where the two front top pieces cross to keep the layers together.
I will definitely make this again, the pattern instructions were so good.
Burda 9671 Toddler Sport Coat
I loved making this pattern! I made a 3T for my son who is between a small 2 and 3. I used a lightweight denim and a heavy weight lining. Because the lining was so supportive I didn't use any interfacing. The pattern was not super thorough with directions and skipped a lot of steps. I sew a lot and didn't have a problem with this but if you are a beginner I wouldn't suggest using this pattern unless you can sort of figure out how to get to the next step. I love how this turned out and I can't wait for him to wear it again.
